Hello, I’m Taneasha Hines — affectionately known as the Queen of Hair Illusions. I’m a Washington, D.C. native with more than 20 years of experience in the beauty industry and a career built on continued education, versatility, and the Artistry of transformation.

My journey began as a braider before I graduated from Dudley Beauty College in 2003 and became a licensed cosmetology professional. Over the years, I continued expanding my craft across healthy and natural hair care, length retention, precision cutting, color, extensions, advanced hair replacement, and alopecia coverage. In 2025, I returned to school and graduated from ProFresh Barber Academy, adding professional barbering education to an already extensive technical foundation.

Today, I am a Master Cosmetologist and Bellami Certified Extension Specialist, specializing in customized, natural-looking hair extensions and Healthy Hair Sessions. Healthy hair has always been at the center of my work. My mother used to say I had “growing hands,” and that philosophy continues to influence the way I approach hair today — protecting the foundation, supporting length retention, and creating transformations without losing sight of the health and integrity of the natural hair and scalp.

My education also includes advanced study in hair and scalp health. I earned my Trichology certification through the International Association of Trichologists (IAT) and became a Certified Hair Loss Specialist under Toni Love. For years, I specialized in alopecia coverage, non-surgical hair replacement, and customized solutions for clients experiencing hair loss. Today, that specialized knowledge has evolved into another part of my purpose: educating beauty professionals through PHD Advanced Hair Training and sharing Techniques developed through years of advanced education and hands-on experience.

My career has extended far beyond the salon chair. I have continued investing in advanced professional education, worked with Wigs for Kids, become a published author, participated in beauty-industry events and competitions, developed products and educational resources, and built multiple platforms for sharing my knowledge. My professional journey has also received recognition through Marquis Who’s Who and media features including VoyageATL.

What makes my work different is not one service or one Technique. It is the combination of more than two decades of experience across multiple areas of the beauty industry — and understanding how healthy hair, cutting, color, texture, extensions, and technical execution all work together to create the finished Illusion.

At PHD Hair Solutions, my focus today is Healthy Hair, Length Retention and natural-looking Hair Extensions. Every transformation is approached with the health of the natural hair in mind, whether we are maintaining your own strands or adding length, volume, and movement through extensions.

Through PHD Advanced Hair Training, I am also pouring those years of knowledge back into other beauty professionals through personalized Hands-On and Virtual Training. My goal is to help professionals strengthen the Techniques they want to master and develop practical skills they can confidently take behind the chair.

After more than 20 years, I’m still learning, still creating, and still evolving — but the foundation remains the same: healthy hair, technical skill and Artistry.
