A sew-in is usually judged by the hair that goes in. The finished look is actually decided before the first weft is sewn. Your appointment opens with a shampoo and scalp cleanse, deep conditioning, and a blow-dry, because hair that is clean and smooth braids flatter and blends more believably. Taneasha Hines then builds a braid foundation mapped to your head shape and your density. That foundation is what makes a flat silhouette possible — wefts are placed so bulk isn't stacked where it would show, which is why the result reads as fullness rather than height.

A portion of your natural hair is left out by design. That leave-out covers the wefts and your hairline, which is what gives this method its believable blend — and it is also what allows the installation to be worn in a ponytail, depending on your natural hair, your density, your installation, and appropriate styling.

Cutting and blending finish the work. The cut allows the extension hair to take on your shape instead of sitting on top of it, and the blend is what keeps the line where your hair ends from announcing itself. With 20+ years behind the chair and barber training, that is the part Taneasha Hines will not rush.

The hair underneath is considered at every stage. Braid tension, placement, and how weight is distributed are all decisions made with your natural hair and scalp in mind, and your home-care recommendations are made with that hair in mind as well.

Wear & Maintenance: Professional maintenance is recommended approximately once a month, and total recommended wear is 8–10 weeks, depending on your natural hair, your scalp, and your home care routine. Some clients will need earlier removal. This installation should not be worn beyond 12 weeks before removal.

Extension hair is not included. Guests may purchase their hair through SNATCHED Virgin Hair Extensions, available through the PHD Hair Solutions menu, or provide their own. Hair requirements are discussed during your Extension Consultation. Previously installed hair must be examined for condition and quality before it can be approved for reuse.
